Shatavisa Majumder
Clinical Psychologist
Welcome to The Affirmative Healing !
Hi, I’m Shatavisa Majumder — a RCI licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 7 years of experience. The Affirmative Healing is the name I work under — not a clinic or a company, but a space I’ve created to offer compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-based mental health care. This is a place for anyone who’s looking for support — whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, identity questions, or just trying to make sense of things. Therapy here is rooted in respect, collaboration, and the belief that healing happens when we’re met as we are. You're welcome, just as you are.

About
I’m a Clinical Psychologist with over 7 years of clinical experience and 2 years of specialized training during my MPhil (Clinical Psychology) program. I hold an M.Phil in Clinical Psychology and an M.A. in Applied Psychology, and I’m licensed by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI Registration No. A63528).Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings including psychiatric hospitals, rehabilitation centers, academic institutions, and private practice. My experience spans individual psychotherapy, couple therapy, psychometric assessment, and diagnostic evaluations — with special expertise in queer and trans affirmative care, trauma and addiction recovery.I am trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Behaviour Therapy (BT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT), and many more. While these form a strong foundation of my clinical work, I feel deeply aligned with third-wave psychotherapies that shift the focus from purely symptom reduction to developing psychological flexibility, enhancing self-awareness, and building a values-driven life.
I draw from a range of third-wave modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based therapies, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), among others. I have pursued specialized training in trauma informed care and my therapeutic orientation is strongly rooted in mindfulness and Positive Psychology.I adopt an eclectic, client-centered approach—carefully tailoring interventions to the unique needs and context of each individual—because I firmly believe that there’s no one-size-fits-all in therapy.Currently, I offer therapy under the name The Affirmative Healing, an inclusive and affirming space where you can explore, heal, and grow — at your own pace, and in your own way.
